A 32 mm miniature case for bigger, busier sculpts
Many recent wargame ranges are sculpted closer to 32 mm than 28 mm: taller figures, heavier armour, larger bases and more dynamic poses. The extra size is not the problem — the reach is. Weapons, capes and backpacks stick further out, and a rectangular slot sized for the widest point leaves the rest loose.
Why 32 mm figures are awkward to store
A 32 mm figure in an action pose occupies a footprint much larger than its base. In a generic tray it either needs a slot far bigger than the model, which lets it slide, or it gets wedged by whatever sticks out furthest.
A carved cavity has neither problem. The outline is followed at every height, so the figure is supported where it is actually wide, and the case can be rotated around the model to find the orientation with the smallest footprint before generating.
