A 28 mm miniature case that fits the figure, not the base
28 mm — usually “heroic” 28 mm, with chunkier proportions than true scale — is the size of most skirmish, wargame and roleplaying figures. It is also the scale where the thinnest parts break most often: a spear at this size can be well under a millimetre thick. What is different about 28 mm
Most 28 mm figures stand on 25 mm to 32 mm round bases and are only a few centimetres tall, so the case itself is small and quick to print. The challenge is detail: weapons, feathers and banner poles are fine enough that a millimetre of play lets them hit the wall.
Because the cavity is carved from the STL, those details get their own recess. Set the slice smaller than usual so the outline follows them closely, and the case holds a spear tip the same way it holds the base.

Frequently asked questions
Is 28 mm the height of the figure or the base?
Neither exactly: it is a rough measure of a human figure’s height, usually taken to eye level. That is why two “28 mm” ranges can differ a lot in bulk — and why carving from the actual STL is more reliable than choosing a slot size.
Will it work for 28 mm figures on 25 mm and 32 mm bases?
Yes. The base is part of the model the case is carved from, so any base size works.
Can I fit a whole party or warband in one case?
