A quick sanity check before you commit the plate. FDM is estimated from volume and throughput; resin from layer count and exposure — resin timing is quite accurate since every layer takes the same cycle.
The two technologies time completely differently.
Time ≈ printed volume ÷ how fast your printer lays plastic.
Time = layers × (exposure + lift). Area doesn't matter — one mini or a full plate takes the same.
FDM squirts plastic along paths, so time scales with how much plastic there is — a good proxy is volumetric throughput (cm³/h), which drops as layers get finer. Resin flashes a whole layer at once, so a lone mini and a packed plate of the same height take the same time: layers × cycle. That's why nesting many minis on a resin plate is basically free time-wise.
