How the packing math works
How many fit: columns = ⌊(inner width + gap) ÷ (footprint + gap)⌋, same for rows and depth, layers = ⌊inner height ÷ (mini height + layer gap)⌋. Total = columns × rows × layers.
Size for an army: we lay the minis in a near-square grid, add gaps, then add walls, floor and a lid to get the case's outer size.
Round bases pack on their diameter; rectangular bases (cavalry, chariots) use width × length.
